Earth Spirit

An Earth Spirit is a spirit that has stayed in the mortal plane long enough to become bonded with the world. Most often this bond lasts less than a hundred years (100 years), but there are ancient spirits that have been on Miranda for millennia. The people of Miranda refer to these spirits as those of the rock, water, forest, cave, and many others. They are typically found in only those places far from civilization, but there are those who live among the very old villages and towns where they are worshiped. Too many people will drive out or destroy an earth spirit.

An earth spirit becomes a Genius Loci when they bond with the world. This is similar to to a Fae, but far more potent. A Fae Genius Loci never loses itself unlike an Earth Spirit, it is just something new to experience. Depending on the strength of will a spirit bond can become irreversible within a couple of decades.
