Description

The ability to “riddle” is widely respected in many cultures. This skill enables the character to do any of the following:

  1. Riddling games may be played with other people with each person in turn posing a riddle for the others to solve. This requires both parties to make opposed skill checks. The guesser of the riddle must succeed in the skill check, all ties are considered won by who posed the riddle.
  2. Riddling can be used to interpret mysterious inscriptions or prophecies with a penalty applied depending on the nature and complexity of the riddle. If the character fails they cannot find the meaning of the riddle. However, they may re-attempt to interpret the riddle every (7 - (1 x PSF%/9)) days (minimum 1 chance per day). The character gains one hint per success which gives them a +5% bonus to their next attempt to solve this riddle. The riddle is solved when the character rolls a success with a CritDie of 10+. The maximum number of hints a character can receive in this manner is equal to the number of ranks they have in the skill. If they do not solve the riddle after receiving their last hint then the riddle is beyond their capabilities.
