Elven Hunter

Elven Hunters are those people that have been elven-trained to survive on their own far from civilization. They are expected to serve as the eyes, ears, and hands of the Elven Council. The training takes between 10 to 20 years depending on both the skill of the trainer and the trainee. Each trainer will only have a single trainee at any one time; however, a trainee will have several other trainers each teaching them just a small number of the skills they need to survive. The final test is so difficult that less 70% of the trainees survive and are accepted as Hunters.

Given both the training time and the oath of service it would be nearly impossible for any non-elf to be accepted into the training. However, in the several hundred years that the elves have trained hunters there have been thirteen individuals so exceptional that they not only were accepted into the training, but passed the final exam. Two of these were gifted with powerful elven artifacts and have had their names permanently noted by the great elven houses.
