This adventure takes place in the village of Ochio in the Kingdom of Eleleno. For two years the people of the village have been stalked by the terrible beast and the Lord of the land is incapable of stopping it.

As the battle raged outside, Zeuxis was left to face the horrible visage of Luputus. Before he could call for assistance the wolf howled at him then vanished from sight just as the battle outside concluded. Imeda, even with the help of her spook, failed to find any trace of the visage. The battle finished, Carlotta drug the body and head back to the smokehouse to be examined more thoroughly. The body was an man of apparently Irillian stock who worked with his hands (callouses). He had three dark ink tattoos on his body (water serpent, mermaid, and a nautically themed Irrishite Circle) that indicated he was probably a sailor. Imeda brought up that she was supposed to report any findings immediately to Lord Davide regardless of the hour, thus everyone returned to the keep leaving the body next to the grave of Agetha.

As the rest waited outside, using the woodshed for shelter from the rain, Imeda went to wake Lord Davide and give her version of events. Once he heard her story fully he summoned the others and asked questions for about an hour. In the end he accepted that the mission he gave Sheila was not finished. They agreed to meet tomorrow at noonday meal and determine the best course of action.

Carlotta talks to Caryn about gossip

Carlotta and Zeuxis spend the morning reading Makis' journal and Funilo's journal. They discover that Makis was selling something to a man named Sergio for a great sum of money. Given how meticulous his journal is concerning other transactions this stands out. Funilo's journal indicates that he was hired by Lord Davide in the year 1450 to attempt to lift the curse upon his nephew.

Sheila goes to the tower and with the help of the Sword of Truth she discovers an illusion door. She battles with a naked man that screams vitriol at her about being a magi. His strength is incredible and Sheila is eventually forced to retreat.

To avoid tipping their hand to Imelda, Sir Orion briefly returns to their encampment with the mercenaries until they can turn them over to the Constable. With some encouragement from Leonardo, Nevin seeks out Father Corrodo in the hopes of securing an ally within the court. The others return to the elven cottage to await the priest's arrival. Nevin finds the Father Corrodo in the chapel while talking to him he manages to slip in a note from Leonardo. The Father retreats to his inner chamber to read the note, eventually returning with a bundle containing a sword.

The two journey to the elven cottage where upon arrival Father Corrodo greets Leonardo warmly. With quite a bit of help from the others they fill the priest in on the details of the past days. Father Corrodo eventually comes to the conclusion that Imelda must be dealt with if peace is ever to return to these lands. He knows that Imelda is currently staying in the lord's original manor a day's travel from their current location. With determination they mount up and ride north.
