The Vernock Tribe were traditionally a peaceful agrarian tribe that hunted, fished, and traded with their neighbors. They lived in peace on their lands for nearly six-hundred years (600 years) before the arrival of the Irillian legions. The Irillians pushed the Vernock back from the shores and sunk their fishing boats. Three times the Vernock went to war against the Irillians but failed against superior training and tactics.

Decades following the last defeat the voices of the warleaders of the Vernock orcs grew. The Irillians stole a portion of their crops to feed the soldiers who killed them. Nokhask was a young and strong voice. He led successful raids against the legions, each time burning their lands and killing their soldiers. He led them in an alliance with the Indus that proved disastrous for the tribe.
