Lake Stolps

Lake Stolps is located in the northeastern part of the Kingdom of Dakar and is considered the headwaters of the Zun River. The lake covers nearly 4,000 km2 (1,700 mi2), but this size changes during the seasons due to his relative shallowness for much of its size. The deepest section of the lake is nearly 70 meters, but most of the lake is no more than 15 meters.

Stolps Lake is feed by two main rivers and numerous smaller streams from the Iron Mountains. The Heron River is the largest and flows due south from its headwaters through a series of channels cut by the dwarves of the Broken Shield Clan. The smaller river is the Orange River, a large natural mineral spring that flows from a long abandoned mine.

Islands

There are three islands in the lake that are not swamped when the lake reaches its highest peak in the summer. Smaller islands often disappear under the water when the lake is high. Rust Rock Island is the largest and connected to the mainland by exposed shoals during the summer. A thriving community of fishers live on the island year round. Kanteal and Ulrïch Islands are both large enough to support those that live there, but cannot be reached by wagon.
