Kingdom of Irill

The Kingdom of Irill was formed in Y398 AE when Lord Doisius forged an alliance with the Stormrock Clan. With the help of dwarven gold and steel Lord Doisius killed the other Lords of Irill and claimed their lands as his own.

Scholars write that the Kingdom of Irill was replaced by the Irillian Empire in Y845 when Emperor Cladius I was crowned. In reality the kingdom was falling apart as early as 712 AE when King Phillipine was assassinated without an heir. To battle to claim the throne spawned three different kings and civil war.

Pre-History

The irillians comprised several tribes of humans living along the eastern border of the Caragan Sea. The stronger tribes conquered the weaker which led to the Six Lords of Irill. These lords were near equals in strength and land, so an attack on any one of them would cause the others to fall on the attacker. This balance of power was maintained for nearly three hundred (300) years.

Succession of Kings

The Kingdom of Irill was formed in Y398 AE when Lord Doisius forged an alliance with the Stormrock Clan. With the help of dwarven gold and steel Lord Doisius killed the other Lords of Irill and claimed their lands as his own. The king claimed from the Caragen Sea to the end of all earth. In truth the Kingdom stretched no more than five hundred kilometers (500 km) at its widest.

When King Doisius died in Y447 AE he was succeeded by his eldest son who took the name King Doisius II. His reign was short-lived as he died of pox in Y451. His young son, Niccolo, would have taken the throne, but instead his brother crowned himself King Abramo the Everlasting. Niccolo was spirited out of the city before his uncle could kill him. The rule of King Abramo is considered the most despotic in the Kingdom's history.

In Y473 Niccolo returned to Portus with support of the nobility. He killed his uncle in single combat and crowned himself King Doisius III. Although his rule is considered wise and peaceful his wives gave him only daughters. While on his deathbed he named his eldest daughter his heir.

Queen Suzetta ruled from Y531 until her death in Y567. She never married and so named her nephew as her legal heir.

King Corrado reigned for fifty-six (56) years and was responsible for the largest expansion of land in the kingdom. He conquered the Maesonites and Hayuk, raising their leaders to the ranks of the Irillian nobility. He signed peace accords with Ijo that would outlive his own rule. When he died in Y623 he was succeeded by his son.

King Corrado II ruled from Y623 until he died while horseback riding in Y667. His wife and children were killed in a tragic fire soon after and so his uncle Phillipine took the throne in Y672.

In Y712 the last of the Irillian kings died. King Phillipine left no heir and did not have the political strength to name another child.
