Elelenii

Elelenii is the largest city in the kingdom of Eleleno; although its size pales in comparison to other royal seats within Selcaria. Founded by Dominic Eleleno at first as a stalwart defense against Pah attacks; it has grown into the center of trade and political power since its founding.

Dom Dominic Eleleno was born into a large landowner family in [[atlas:Irill]. However, his prospects of inheriting much of that land were dim owing to his birth. Using his own purse and a favorable loan from the Guild of Silversmiths, he hired a three mercenary companies. Together, with his own company that he had formed several years previously, he set out to conquer lands south of Selcaria. The first campaign was a disaster as the land was ill-suited for the heavy foot soldiers he had, and the Pah warriors tore up his light cavalry. His forces were forced to retreat to a small keep his engineers had built for the winter.

In the spring, Dominic hired a company of bowmen and skirmishers and once again started his campaign. This time his men were victorious as they pushed the Pah across the Ithaca River. He built a series of forts along the border to protect his newly won lands. Dominic left his close confident Nikoli in charge of over half his army along this river while he returned to the keep. He needed to build his political power so that he could keep his gains. Over the years the keep expanded into a town and then into a city.

During the Second Pah war the western part of the city was sacked and burned by a Pah Raiding party. Dominic, now recognized as a the king of the these lands, took out a full measure of vengeance on the surrounding tribes, and with his force of arms, tamed the lands.

With the tribes in fear of his army, he successfully established a trade route to the next city north. The town has been stable in the family's care since that time.
