Ejderha Mountains

The Ejderha Mountains are a mountain range that runs along the northern coast of Aquanius through the southern cities of Theodova. It stretches around 5,100 km (3,170 miles) separating the Serpente Sea from the large Vo Grasslands. Diago Mountain is the highest mountain in the range, reaching 3,950 meters (12,960 feet) high. The northern slopes of the mountains are thick in forests including pine, oak, and cedar.

The mountains are rich in basalt, gold, silver, zinc, lead, copper, and iron. There are numerous passes and river valleys through the mountains.

The Ejderha Mountains are divided into three regions. The first contains the Black range and Blood range and is the most western. The middle is the longest contiguous region containing the entirety of the High Ejderha range. The most eastern region, commonly called Tre Fratelli (Three Brothers) is comprised of the three smallest regions, the Frescan range, [#Dantino range]], and Iago range.

Black range

Named for the dark basalt that covers this range, the Black range is covered with sulfuric steam vents and acidic springs. The range is dominated by three large volcanoes that rarely go more than five hundred (500) years without one of them having a violent eruption. Smaller eruptions and lava flows occur every ten to twenty (10-20) years. The range is devoid of most trees, only small plants and ferns able to survive. Frequent rock slides and pockets of gasses make travel nearly impossible.

Blood range

South of the Black range, the Blood range is so rich in iron ore that the streams run red with rust. Although it runs only two to three hundred kilometers (200-300 km) south of its sibling, this range is tectonically stable.

High Ejderha range

The longest range, the High Ejderha contains not only the highest peak in the entire mountains, but is cut through by numerous valleys. The Draak valley and Sinder valley are the two largest both formed by massive rivers flowing through them. Although the Jariin valley was formed by a river there are now only large freshwater basins.

Frescan range

The Frescan range is the northern of the three small ranges that comprise the eastern mountains. A crescent-shaped range the waters that run off it enrich the northern grasslands and shield Queen valley from the storms that build up in the Serpente Sea.

Dantino range

The smallest range both in terms of length and average height. The Dantino range is a small spur from southern Iago range. It marks the southern border of Queen valley. Rich veins of gold and platinum are mined from the mountains.

Iago range

The longest of the Three Brothers, Iago range runs nearly directly south to north. Its base surrounded by thick jungle while the peaks seem to blaze as the layers of quartz reflect the sun. There is danger in this range as legends speak of a powerful dragon that makes this range his home. What few records survive from Firescrag speak of a powerful and ancient dragon that lived beneath the range.
