Druyen Highlands

The Druyen Highlands is the area of land that runs along the southern ridges of the Iron Mountains. Most of the land is occupied by Krandryia, although the eastern ridges are claimed by Carthia (Tlad Hith).

The Highlands is the most mountainous region within the Western Realms because the Iron Mountains are generally considered a region unto itself. The highest peak in the highlands is U'golan. The mountain is considered sacred to the Rock Trolls that live there. They do not allow anyone else on the mountain.

There are more than 7,500 freshwater lakes in the Highlands. The majority of these lakes were created by the mini ice age that occurred during the Dark Ages. The level of the water is maintained by rain and snow melt. The deepest lake is Lake Wroclan at 250 meters. The largest lake in terms of area is Lake Ringawd at 32 km2

The highlands are rich in mineral veins. Copper, Iron, Tin, Lead, Zinc, Gold, and Silver can all be found in good quantities in the highlands. In addition the black basalt rock found in the most eastern ridges is highly prized for its beauty.
