Dayshun Necropolis

This sprawling stone necropolis is dedicated to Dayshun of Rarrick a disciple of Taur and patron saint of Glorification of the Dead. Legends tell of the long ballads Dayshun would sing in honor of the great men and women who passed from this life. Great is not in the eyes of men, but in the eyes of the god. His most recognized poem was dedicated to a common washerwoman who died in front of a fountain as he was passed her.

Nearly three-hundred (300) bodies were interred within the grounds and twenty-three (23) more inside the central tomb. Over fifty (50) priests and acolytes served this necropolis. They were all killed the Red Blades in Y387 AH. Over the years the spirits became restless and anyone foolish enough to tread upon the grounds after the sun sets will likely never see the light of day again.

When it was first built a wooden fence connecting stone posts marked the perimeter of the necropolis. The wood rotted away leaving only the weather worn posts. Once sixteen (16) stone monuments dotted the grounds, but only three are still intact. The others fell to the weather or thieves.

The large central tomb is built as a small stone keep complete with battlements and gatehouse. Atop the keep are three pillars that used to maintain an eternal flame, but burned out when the priests were killed by the elves.
