Blazing Glory

The longest range of the Jundari, Blazing Glory runs along the peaks, valleys, and plains that encircle the world at its girth. The jundari of Blazing Glory are a nomadic people scattered across the lands each seeking its own meaning in following the sun. They live in small communities of family and close friends, traveling the world together for protection and enlightenment.

From the cold northern peaks to the mountains higher than breathable air, the jundari have built their eyries. Commanded by the goddess of the winds and bearer of the sun the jundari have gathered in in these places to be closer to her, but there are always those who follow a different path. In searching for their own meaning, jundari began to migrate towards the equator. Known as the Great Migration, thousands of jundari left their lands within decades of each other and independently sought their own way.

The range of Blazing Glory, for the people of the land recognize no border or barrier, encompasses a band around the equator. Its width can be hundreds of miles, but its width changes with the available nesting locations.

Each nest is free to worship the sun and wind as they wish; although there are some recognized leaders these tend to be mostly based upon longevity and insightful wisdom. Some of the more charismatic have gathered a few hundred around them, but the nature of those that come to this range is seeking fulfillment, thus no jundari holds sway for very long.

Foreign Relations

Most of the nations the range passes through welcome the jundari. They tend to nest in areas far from their own holdings, trade goods from far-away lands, and then leave to continue on their journey. There have been clashes over the hundreds of years the jundari have traveled, but few last long as the jundari are soon gone.

The jundari of Blazing Glory have an economy based fully on barter and communal good. Each individual is expected to serve the whole and the whole serves the individual. Within their smaller communities those that can do more are expected to do so for one day they will need help in return. Communities have shunned those who allow their selfish nature to guide them, but will once again open their arms when they return.

Many of the communities barter for manufactured goods among the communities that share the land they are passing over. Given the weight limit a jundari may carry in flight large amounts of physical goods are impractical. Instead, the communities share in carrying the burden of what they need and are encouraged to make what they need and trade for what they cannot.

An outsider might view the jundari of Blazing Glory to be one of near chaos. Each individual is free to do as they please when seeking enlightenment, fulfillment, or worship of the sun and wind. Communities of like minded jundari often gather during their nearly constant migration. Members are free to come and go, often traveling between different communities as their needs change. Within any community there is semi-autonomic order, but it comes about according to the needs of the community over time.

It would take an outside years to study the interactions within and between communities, but they would have to travel with them to accomplish this task. For most outsiders it is better to simply take a nearby community as it appears.

The nature of the range is such that only jundari can live among the communities. It would be nearly impossible for any other race to keep up with any single community as it flies through the sky worshiping sun and wind.
