====== Imirio I ====== Imirio I (Imirio Sispurus, born 1412) is the current wp>monarch of the atlas:Kingdom of Aquileia. He gained the throne in 1442 when the then current king, Aquilius I, was assassinated by retainers loyal to Count Rumius in 1437. His position on the throne is not fully secure as Rumius and King Aquilius both had houses that owe them wp>fidelity and seek to put their own rulers on the throne. To date Imirio has managed to play the houses against each others fueled mostly by the houses own animosity towards each other. //**Imirio I**// \\ images | **Reign** | 1442 to present | | **Coronation** | 1442 | | **Predecessor** | Aquilius I | | **Heir-apparent** | None | | **Consort** | Imirio Tamara | | **Issue** | None | | **Full Name** | Imirio Sispurus Tusculani | | **House** | Sispurus | | **Father** | Metello Sispurus | | **Mother** | Sispurus Alcina | | **Born** | 1412 | | **Religion** | orgs:irrishite | | **Race** | Human | ===== Early Life ===== As the second son of lore:House Sispurus, Imirio would have lived a comfortable life at his family's holdings; however he was brash, arrogant, and very quick-tempered. Given this combination it wasn't too long before he killed a son of the powerful lore:House Gravius in a duel to first blood. To stop the brewing war between the houses, his father banished him from his holdings with the fewest number of retainers as possible. At first Imirio stayed in an apartment in the city of atlas:Antulius until a nearly successful assassination plot convinced him that his fortune was better somewhere else. With his remaining retainers he traveled to the capitol atlas:Tusculum and in a few short years became a powerful wp>baron paying hommage to King Aquilius. When King Aquilius and his family were assassinated during a coup attempt by Count Rumius, Imirio was one of many nobles that gathered his troops and marched on the castle. For several years they laid seige to the castle until they finally breached its walls and killed Rumius. The siege was costly and in the end Imirio found himself the most powerful noble still in the field. Reacting quickly he gathered as many of the fighting men that were left without patrons and declared himself as king. While he still had to crack the whip over the heads of some of the other nobles who stayed out of the war by 1446 he was in full control of the kingdom. ===== Reign ===== King Imirio I has been working towards making his father's house, Sispurus, the dominant house in Aquileia but until his father can manage a full peace with House Gravius he must rule independently. There have been several uprisings over the years, with the Slave Revolt of 1451 being the most costly in terms of lives lost and property destroyed.
