====== Hellstrom Darkmaster ======

Hellstrom was aptly named by his father who when he was 10 years old tried to sacrifice him to a powerful [[creatures:demon#Demon Lord]]. His mother escaped leaving his father to contend with a no longer bound demon. As he grew up he swore he would never be powerless again and sought out a master wizard to teach him to harness his gift. In time he not only mastered his gift, but learned to reach down and help others that had been trodden under by those more powerful.

He is a very proud man and desires and demands respect above all else. He seeks to become more powerful of a magician so that none may use him like his father did those many years ago. He has met his father several times over the years, who bears him no grudge, but still seeks to use him for his own ends.

He was given a gift by a dragon such that he will only age 1 year for each 10 years of his life and cannot be killed by anything short of a more powerful being. The disadvantage of such a powerful gift is that his soul is forever bound to this world, he can never ascend into the higher planes - of course he cannot be cast into the infernal either.

===== Early Life =====

Hellstrom's father was a magician. One night, he tied his son up on an altar, ready to sacrifice him to a demon. The boy's mother intervened, and managed to free her son before the demon arose. She fled as the beast attacked the father. His mother didn't live much longer than that, perhaps cursed by her husband. Hellstrom became apprenticed to a magician, as he was obviously very strong in magic.


===== Appearance =====

Hellstrom is a tall and handsome man with jet black hair. He wears it his hair short and generally has a short-cropped beard. A gift from a dragon will ensure that the outlives any but the elves; however, it comes at the cost of normal, albeit slowed, human aging. He is aging at a rate of 1 human year for each 10 real years. So powerful was this gift that only a more powerful being can kill him, no matter the damage he suffers his spirit will be bound to this world until he reaches his 1000th year - when the magic will stop.
