**Knight in the service of Bornheim**

Lord Hubbert of [[atlas:Holtenwertz]] is a long standing bachelor knight. He adheres to the older traditions, visits the temple at least twice a week, and has never shirked a duty assigned to him. In many ways he represents the best of the Dakarian nobility. He offers charity to the weak, succor to the sick, coin to the poor, and a bare sword to the crown enemies.

As a knight he participated in many tournaments over his years. Although he never won the grand prize, he never had a poor showing with either sword, mace, lance, or horsemanship.

In Y462 he received an invitation to attend one of [[people:Ephesus]]'s auctions at [[atlas:Tminir Tower]]. Although his family estates are not among the wealthiest, he was invited at the behest of the [[orgs:temple_of_light]]. The church has always sent representatives to the auctions in the hopes of winning the bid and then destroying the artifact. He did not attend the auction as [[people:amer_terrante]] purchased his invitation in exchange for a betrothal to a woman in his family. His desires to see the continuation of his family line won out over his pledge to the church.
