====== Stonearm Clan ======

The Stonearm Clan is a clan of dwarves that formed around when [[people:Garrin Stonearm|Garrin]] was born as a [[creatures:dwarf#True Blood]]. His entire right arm, shoulder, and part of his neck are living stone instead of flesh. Such blessings are not the providence of mere magic, but instead gifts from the [[lore:Earthmother]] and a sign of someone marked for greatness.

===== History =====

The clan and its people came about in 325 [[lore:AH]] when Garrin was born true-blooded. Those who witnessed the event raised the young infant up to [[wp>Jarl]] and named his clan Stonearm in honor of the blessing. Before Garrin Stonearm had reached a majority over three hundred of his kin flocked to his [[lore:Clanhold]] and took oaths under his banner.

Since those beginnings the clan has more than trebled in size; although it has not spread out beyond the [[atlas:Rakarian Valley]]. The Clanhold itself is built in Bornheim and was constructed to withstand a magical siege. The clan knows that it has gathered here for a Great Testing, but when or what shape it takes is still under debate within its scholars.

The Stonearm Clan is a small dwarven clan whose founder is still alive. It has not expanded its reach beyond the city of [[atlas:Bornheim]]


===== Culture =====

Garrin believes that his blessing is a sign of troubles to come. He, and those that follow, are being tested for a great undertaking. The port city of Bornheim is not just a large human port of goods, but well-known for the many unusual stone that is found nowhere else. This has made the [[orgs:dakarians]] wealthy, but also draws attention from the ][[creatures:elf|elves]]. Legends speak of a people that once lived in this valley who could shape and change stone without the use of tools. Those of the clan believe such a people still live in the valley.

This testing and the belief in a hidden people drives those of Stonearm. They are not as integrated into the [[creatures:human]] society in which they live - a marked difference from most dwarven cultures. Instead they posses almost a single-minded determination to confront their test and overcome it. Driven to uncover the lost lore of this land this clan is known for its scholarly warriors.
