====== Kinikitys Heart ======

The **Kinikitys Heart** (commonly called Kiny) is a [[creatures:hashan]] merchantmen flying the [[atlas:Jugalii]] flag. In Y457 Lars became the captain when the previous captain was killed during a dispute with some passengers. Lars was first officer and after seeing those that killed the captain thrown overboard he was elected captain by the crew.

She is two-masted [[wp>Carvel (boat building)|carvel]] built fat-bottomed merchant ship. Its hold can carry over 80 tons of cargo and still have space for nearly a score of passengers. Large, lanteen-rigged, square sails provide sufficient speed for sailing, but Kiny is not likely to outmaneuver or outrun most pirate ships. Instead she fights.

The ship has a small forecastle, in which reside the passengers cabins, and a much larger aft castle, housing the officers and weapon lockers. Both castles have battlements to provide cover for archers. Two heavy [[wp>ballistae]] of dwarven design are mounted on the fore castle capable of throwing nearly a 30 kg (66 pound) bolt. A pair of [[wp>scoripo]]s are kept in a watertight locker on the aft-castle.
