====== Marine Biome ======

The **marine biome** is an aquatic environment typically found in the sea or ocean. With a salinity above 3.5%, seawater denser and less prone to freezing than fresh water. This is the largest biome on the world as seawater covers over 70% of the world.

  * **Sunlight**
    * Depth of water where photosynthesis can still occur (200 m/660 ft)
    * Temperatures can range from 40 to -3 <sup>o</sup>C
  * **Twilight**
    * Depth between 200 m and 1,000 m (660 - 3,300 ft)
    * Oxygen deplete around 500 m with only blue-green light
  * **Midnight**
    * Depth between 1,000 m and 4,000 m (3,300 - 13,000 ft)
    * No living plants, no sunlight
  * **Abyssal**
    * Depth of 4,000 m to the ocean floor
