====== Mankind ======

Mankind is the [[wp>taxonomic]] [[wp>genus]] for those mortal sapients created by the [[creatures:Magi]] at the end of the [[lore:Return of the Gods]] just before they left the world. The magi used the physical bodies of an [[creatures:elf]] when they created their children. This means that technically mankind, elves, and orcs all belong in the same species as they are capable of producing viable offspring - but they are divided based upon their origins.

The actually creation of mankind, and what individual believes concerning their creation are separate for most humans. Most humans believe they were created by the [[lore:gods]] and filled with a divine purpose. This **manifest destiny** is what makes the humans so different from every other sapient species.
