====== Serpente Sea ======

The Serpente Sea is a large sea running roughly in the same [[wp>circle of latitude]] of Miranda, surrounded by the [[Illathin Region]]. It is connected to the [[Isaurus Ocean]] at the western mouth and is almost completely surrounded by land: on the north by [[Miran]], on the south by [[North Aquanius]]. This sea is sometimes considered a part of the Isaurus Ocean; although more commonly it is identified as a distinct body of water.

At the eastern most point of the sea it eventually flows into the [[Maritic Ocean]] through the wide [[Dengal Strait]] that divides Miran and Aquanius at their closest point. This strait allows trade to pass from the Maritic Ocean to the rich ports in the [[Western Realms]].


The commonly accepted division between The Isaurus Ocean and Serpente Sea on most maps is the [[Tarakian Islands]]. This enormous [[wp>archipelago]] is comprised of approximately 18,000 islands.
