====== Kivar River ======

This wide and slow river winds its way through the marshlands of the [[atlas:Beyaz Swamp]]. The **Kivar River** has changed course many times over the years as the land shifts, creating dozens of small ponds.


===== Physical Geography =====

The Kivar River as three distinct sections: the [[#Headwaters]] flow from the [[atlas:Anor Mountains]]; [[#Uilode Bayou]] is the widest point of the river where several [[wp>distributary|distributaries]] branch out before rejoining; the last section is the wide [[#Kivar Delta]] where it empties into the sea.


==== Headwaters ====

The headwaters of the river is found at the foot of the Anor Mountains. Feed by both an underground aquifer and run-off from the nearby mountains The river runs clear over the more rocky ground; although he has a strong smell of sulfur and other minerals. As the river enters the swamp it spreads out and becomes the Uilode Bayou.


==== Uilode Bayou ====

The Uilode Bayou is the widest section of the river. Dozens of distributaries branch out from the main river channel only to rejoin less than a mile downstream. Although most of the river is less than 2 meters deep, the central channel is over five meters. The riverbed is over a meter of silt which makes crossing the river without a boat or ferry difficult in most places.


==== Kivar Delta ====

This salty delta is where the Kivar River spread out among the lowlands intermixing with the incoming tide. The tidal waters are a mix of brackish freshwater and seawater.
