====== Dakar Shires ======

As stated elsewhere I will be using the more generic term shire as the name for administrative areas within a country. The correct term for of Ehrendorfshire below would actually be Bundesland Ehrendorf.

Dakar is divided into twelve shires, in addition to three regions that are not populated enough to become shires. Each shire is further divided into hundreds. These divisions are independent to feudal sub-infeudation. Each hundred is permitted a single Market. Forest hundreds are sparsely populated and will be outlined below.

Each shire has an sheriff appointed by the crown who is held accountable by the Exchequer and Lord Chancellor. The sheriffs oversee the judicial and taxation of their shire and while the position is not hereditary they are still considered powerful nobles. They are responsible for ensuring that all shire revenue is passed on to the Exchequer, if the accounting is short they must make it up from their local purse. The sheriff will appoint a bailiff for each hundred to administer local justice.
