Exactly what the person needs is not up for Thaogut to decide, but is instead the chest itself. How the chest decides what the person needs seems bizarre and random at time, but it is always useful in the span of time. Once opened the chest can draw things from across time and throughout the entirety of the [[lore:​Shadow Realms]].

Anyone attempting to harm either of them or separate them will find that a great many very powerful beings are obligated to help Thaogut. There is an exception for children.
