| Silence descends on the canyon as a stone lemur-like creature pulls itself away from the wall at the back of the cave. It touches the woman on the back of her head and puts her to sleep. The stone lemur tells Quilate that he has finally woken but he does not think he is ready. He has been summoned to guide Quilate, but warns him that his destructive greed will darken his path.
